Wedgewood Association Meeting

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:10 pm by Deborah McClintock, President.

Minutes from previous meeting: The minutes from the meeting on 06/5/2023 were read.
Amended: The minutes stated that it is strongly encouraged to submit plans to the Architecture and Grounds committee prior to starting any improvements. This should state that it is REQUIRED to submit plans to the Architecture and Grounds committee prior to starting any improvements.
The amended minutes from the June 5, 2023 association meeting were approved and accepted by the voting members in attendance
Officers Report:
President’s Report: The requirement per covenants of 75% approval by the neighbors of Wedgewood Place was met for attached solar panels consequently they have been approved for the association. Any resident wishing to use attached solar panels will need to submit plans to the Architectural and Grounds committee prior to installing.
Treasurer’s report: The current Profit and Losses statement was reviewed.
Proposed budget-
The proposed budget for the 2023-2024 year was reviewed.
Changes to the budget include:
Treasure compensation has been increased from $100/month to $200/month.
The budget for the snow removal has been increased to ensure enough funds will be available for the winter season.
Association dues will be increased from $108 to $115.
The motion was made to approve the proposed budget and seconded. The budget was approved by the voting members in attendance.
Association dues statements with the new amount of $115 will be sent out by September 15, 2023. Dues will need to be paid by October 15, 2023.
Architectural and Grounds committee- The committee is currently waiting on plans from one resident for a fence and back of the house renovations on Verandah.
Playground committee-
Hour in the park was very successful this summer. Thank you to Jo and the playground committee for all of your time and dedication.
The committee met to come up with playground improvements ideas. If able to obtain a grant through the city totaling $5,000, the money could be used towards purchasing a merry-go-round for $3,331 and a seesaw for $763. Concrete paint could also be purchased to create a hop-scotch or a maze on the sidewalk. The installation of bike racks was suggested. Purchasing soccer nets was also suggested, but could be an issue due the area being prone to high water levels.
Old Business- A group met to do some landscaping work. Thank you to everyone who participated.
Magnets with the association information including the association Facebook, website, and email were purchased and will be sent out with dues assessment.
New Business-
Wedgewood Directory-There will be information to opt-in to a neighborhood directory sent with the dues assessment. If you would like to participate in the directory, send the paper back with the information you would like included in the directory.

The nominated officers and board members were approved by a unanimous vote by the voting members in attendance.
A special thank you to Debrah McClintock for her hard work and dedication serving as president of the association this past year.
Round table- There have been some residences with trailers that have not been parked and not moved. Trailers should be moved within 48 hours of being parked. There also has been some residences with an overgrowth of thistles and weeds. Discussions will be continued on how to move forward with any violators of the covenants.
